Why Australia
A vast island continent with room to raise livestock and a strong focus on animal health.
A continent of its own
Australia covers about 7.69 million square kilometres, around five per cent of the world’s land. It’s the sixth-largest country, after Russia, Canada, China, the United States and Brazil, and the only one of the six that is entirely surrounded by water.
Australia is:

Room to raise livestock
Vast grazing land and a wide range of climates, from the tropical north to the temperate south, support large-scale cattle, sheep and goat production.
Protected by the sea
As an island continent, Australia can keep pests and diseases out more easily, and it enforces strict biosecurity at its borders to protect the health of its livestock.
Traceable animals
Australia’s National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) records the movements of cattle, sheep and goats, so animals can be traced through their lives.
